Allama Iqbal

Recently, I came to know about a fact about Allama Iqbal’s, when a colleague of mine, Vivek Rawal enlightened me that Iqbal’s ancestors were Kashmiri Pandit. He and his family, who have the same bloodline, are keenly interested and working on to bring this fact to the notice of public and to correct the history records in this regard, although this fact is disputed by some scholars. Vivek also told me about an article of Khushwant Singh, which appeared in The Tribune, Chandigarh’s 30.06.07 Saturday edition. Kushwant Singh has narrated the ancestry of Allama Iqbal.
